Definition of Financial Literacy

Financial literacy is not about teaching, learning, or preaching —it’s about understanding and, most
importantly, doing it . As the saying goes: “Kaarne se hota hai” (It happens by doing).
You can attend countless seminars, read dozens of books, and
listen to hundreds of hours of financial advice. But none of that
creates actual financial literacy until you take action.
Real financial understanding comes from:
• Making actual investment decisions
• Managing a real budget
• Experiencing market fluctuations firsthand
• Learning from your own mistakes
• Celebrating your own successes
Theory provides the map, but action provides the territory. Start
small if you must, but start. The gap between knowing and doing
is where most people fail. Don’t be one of them.
